'The Pete Collective' is an unnecessary gathering of people called Peter. This is the official website and fan club of anybody called Peter, featuring news, photos, merchandise, event information, updates and more. Join the Pete supremacy!
In 2004 I discovered that there have been record breaking gatherings of Marias in Spain and Mohammeds in Dubai, inspired by the dumbness of it all, I decided to go for the world record myself... it seemed random, quirky & spontaneous. I was always a bit of a Pete supremacist so I set up this nefarious website to entrap my namesakes and get them to pledge allegiance to meet me & 'Give Pete a chance'. I need at least 2000 Pete's on board, so I can arrange to meet them all in one place, at the same time. It's also my aim to meet as many Pete's from as many countries as possible, you can follow my progress here.
The way I look at it, if I meet one interesting Pete a month, this year will be 12 times more interesting than it was last year... fact!

You thought I'd forgotten about you, didn't you? Well you're wrong... I've just had a busy year & my mind has been focusing on some other pursuits... but I think about my merry band of Petes everyday at least one & to prove that point... change is coming... Obama has nothing on the ideas I've got bubbling for you little lot. First up you'll have noticed new things popping up on the homepage. Pete TV is coming to the collective & I'm going to be attacking YouTube as well! It's time to embrace web 2.0 and start conquering the world one little digital piece at a time.

Happy New Year Peters. I sincerely hope you all had a great 2008 & you'll have an even better 2009!
As we know, New Year is a time for family, for reunions, for taking stock, for looking back and looking forward. For many of you, 2009 will be an enormous challenge, with the full impact of the economic downturn starting to bite.
At times like this, therefore, it is even more important that we pull together as a collective. The economic storm clouds are gathering. But I know that we will weather this storm - and emerge even stronger, and well placed to prosper if we support each other over the next 12 months.
We need to ensure The Collective becomes a more successful gathering, mitigating the downturn and giving a source of fun, escapism for any of us who suffer the storm.
I believe there is a spirit of optimism in this Collective that will pull us through any hard times, that will see Petes take their rightful place in the world, and right now will encourage people to keep their dreams alive.
Be good to each other & prosper!
